What file types can be uploaded into Catapult LMS?

For security reasons, only specific file types can be uploaded by users into the Catapult LMS. Below is the complete list of allowed file types.

.3g2, .3gp, .avi, .csv, .doc, .docx, .dot, .dotx, .flac, .flv, .gif, .html, .jpeg, .jpg, .m2v, .m4a, .m4b, .m4v, .mov, .mp3, .mp4, .mpeg, .mpg, .oga, .ogg, .ogv, .pdf, .png, .ppsx, .ppt, .pptx, .rtf, .svg, .svgz, .txt, .wav, .webm, .webp, .wma, .wmv, .xls, .xlsb, .xlsx, .xlt, .xltx, .zip

If you need to upload a file type that isn't accepted by Catapult LMS, we recommend saving it into a "zip folder" or "archive file" and then uploading the zip/archive into the LMS. This feature can be accessed by right clicking the file and then selecting Compress if on an Apple machine or Send to > Compressed (zipped) folder on a Windows machine.

What is the maximum file size that can be uploaded into Catapult?

Each individual file can be no larger than 100MB in size. You can have multiple files that are more than 100MB in total - e.g. two or three files of 60MB each would be acceptable - the 100MB limit is a per-file limit.

How many files can be uploaded in each upload area?

No more than twenty (20) individual files can be uploaded per separate upload area. If more files need to be uploaded, we recommend archiving them into a .zip file and then uploading the .zip file itself.
