Using the "Due Date Reminders" feature

  This is an optional feature!

The "Due Date Reminders" feature described in this article is optional and not enabled by default. If you'd like to have it enabled in your system, please send an email to support@catapult-elearning.com!

When using Catapult LMS, you can assign Due Dates for individual enrolments. This can be done via the Edit enrolment page, or in bulk during a batch enrolment creation process only. These due dates are visible on any Enrolments page, and also on the Learner Dashboard;

Using the "Due Date Reminders" feature, Admins can configure account-wide settings regarding due date notifications, and also send out ad-hoc notifications to all users that fit certain given criteria.

Firstly, you will need to contact support@catapult-elearning.com to have this feature enabled. Once that has been done, Admin-level users will notice an additional entry in their Administration drop-down menu;

This screen allows you to configure two kinds of messages; "recurring reminders" and "ad-hoc reminders".

Recurring reminders

These are reminders that the system will automatically send out on an ongoing basis to students who are nearing a due date listed against one of their enrolments. You can click the Add recurring reminder button to specify a number of weeks; as soon as a due date comes within the listed number of weeks, a student will be notified that their due date is approaching.

Note that this is an account-level setting and will apply to all due dates within your system. There is not currently a way to set different due dates for different units/cohorts/etc.

Also note that a maximum of two recurring reminders can be set up in your system, corresponding to the two notification templates (see below).

Ad-hoc reminders

Ad-hoc reminders are once-off messages that can be sent out by Admin-level users. When this option is utilised, all users who have a due date within the specified range will receive a notification. So, for the below example...

... any students who have a due date coming up within the next two weeks will receive this notification.

Note that the notification template used for ad-hoc reminders is the "Due Date First Reminder" template (see below).

Notification email templates

There are two notification templates associated with this functionality; one for the first reminder that the student will receive (also used for ad-hoc reminders), and one for the last reminder that the student will receive. These templates are included below, but they can be customised. If you'd like to customise the content of these notification(s), please send your request to support@catapult-elearning.com so that we can update the template(s) on your behalf.
