Identify your Catapult product type and unit release

Record the Catapult product type and the nationally recognised training information before reviewing or delivering a resource. If the unit has been contextualised, record its edition code or edition title as well.

Catapult product type

The Catapult product type identifies the purchased product, such as Certify, V6, V5 or Catapult Collective.

Use the product name shown in the current Catapult catalogue or purchase record. General page appearance, screenshots and filenames are not reliable identifiers because several product types share delivery features.

Where a product version is shown, use it to help confirm the product type. Do not confuse it with the nationally recognised unit release.

Training package and unit release

Check the training package, unit code, title and release against the National Register entry used by your RTO. Package versions, unit releases and national publication dates come from training.gov.au.

A unit-information document might repeat this information. Confirm it against training.gov.au rather than treating it as a Catapult product version.

Contextualised unit variants

An edition code or edition title identifies a variant of a contextualised unit. Record it when your RTO has more than one variant of the same unit.

Do not use an edition code as the Catapult product type or the nationally recognised unit release.

When the details do not agree

Keep a note of each value and where it came from. Do not choose one silently.

Send Catapult:

• the unit code and title
• the organisation name
• the Catapult product type shown in the catalogue or purchase record
• the training.gov.au entry and unit release
• the edition code or edition title, where applicable
• relevant filenames or screenshots
