Show learners the full work path at the start of the unit. Include Catapult LMS navigation, downloaded files, practical activities and submission methods used by the selected resource.
Start with Introduction to Learners, the Getting Started and the User Guides collection of articles.
Before learners start
Confirm that each learner can sign in and open the unit. Check access to required software, devices, files, workplaces and support.
Use Helping users to log in for login problems. Google Chrome is Catapult's preferred browser. For FNS workbooks, name the spreadsheet application and version used during testing.
Explain the unit structure
Point out the learning topics, formative checks and formal assessment areas. Show where instructions continue in a downloaded document.
Use the labels learners can see on screen. Internal product or export terms will not help them find a section.
Manage downloaded work
Give learners a simple filename convention and a place to save working copies. Explain which template to use and whether they may change its structure.
For multi-sheet workbooks, show the instructions sheet and the expected completion order. Do not provide assessor solutions or completed examples unless they have been approved as learner material.
Explain practical evidence
Tell learners where the activity takes place, who will observe it and what they need to submit. Cover photo, video, logbook, workplace and third-party evidence where the unit uses them.
Explain privacy and consent requirements before recording people or workplace information.
Check the submission
Before the due date, ask learners to confirm that:
- the correct file opens
- required sheets or sections are complete
- the filename identifies the task and learner
- links and embedded evidence work
- the upload has finished and appears in Catapult LMS
If the Submit button is unavailable, check that the enrolment is In progress and that a Trainer is assigned. See FAQ: Why can't a learner submit their enrolment?.
When a learner cannot continue
Capture the unit code, assessment name, device, browser, file type and any error message. If the Knowledge Base and user guides do not resolve the issue, contact Customer Support on (08) 8275 9333 or support@catapult-elearning.com.
